Russian ordinary passport holders can enter mainland China visa-free for up to 30 days through 31 Dec 2027. Russian ordinary passport holders can enter mainland China visa-free for business, tourism, family or friends visits, exchange visits, or transit for up to 30 calendar days per entry. China's Russia waiver started at 00:00 on 15 September 2025 and the MFA extended it through 31 December 2027. No advance declaration to a Chinese embassy or consulate is required, but entry is still subject to border inspection and travelers should carry documents matching the purpose of travel, such as invitation letters, air tickets, and accommodation reservations. The ordinary passport must be valid for the intended stay; a 6-month buffer and spare pages remain prudent for airline checks and visa fallback. Russian internal passports, temporary/emergency travel documents, work, formal study, news coverage, and stays over 30 days are outside the waiver and require the appropriate Chinese visa or stay/residence permit.
