Do China passport holders need a visa to visit RU?
Visa-free 30 days for Chinese tourists since 15 Sep 2025 mutual trial. Chinese passport holders can enter Russia visa-free for up to 30 days per stay under the China-Russia mutual visa-free trial that entered into force on 15 September 2025. The agreement is reciprocal — Russian citizens enjoy the same 30-day visa-free entry to China. The trial was initially set for one year and has been extended through 14 September 2026. Travel must be for tourism, business meetings, family visits, or transit. The visa-free arrangement reflects deepening China-Russia strategic partnership and aims to support cross-border trade in the Far East. Aeroflot, China Southern, S7, and Hainan Airlines operate direct flights from Beijing/Shanghai/Guangzhou to Moscow Sheremetyevo (SVO) and St Petersburg Pulkovo (LED). Work, study, journalism, and stays over 30 days still require a regular Russian visa from the Russian embassy in Beijing or consulates in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, or Harbin. Standard Russian tourist visa fees are USD 50 (single entry) for stays over 30 days.
