Russian Federation to Senegal visa requirements

A Russian ordinary passport holder needs a visa for Senegal, but can obtain a visa on arrival at Dakar Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD) for a short tourist stay of up to 1 month. Russia is not on Senegal's full visa-exempt list for ordinary passports (only diplomatic/service passports enjoy 90-day visa-free entry). As of 30 May 2026, Senegal does NOT grant ordinary Russian passport holders visa-free entry. The visa-exemption (90 days) applies to Russian diplomatic and service/official passports only. For tourism on an ordinary passport, the practical channel is a visa on arrival (VOA) issued at Dakar's Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD/DSS), valid for a stay of up to one month, provided the traveler carries a passport with at least 6 months validity, a confirmed return/onward ticket, and proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter). Senegal has also developed an electronic/biometric pre-visa platform (around EUR 50) intended for nationalities outside the exemption list; however, this system has had an inconsistent rollout, and VOA at Dakar remains the reliable route used by Russian travelers. Land/sea borders and regional airports do not reliably issue VOA, so Russian travelers should arrive by air at Dakar. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if arriving from or transiting a country with yellow fever transmission risk. Senegal is in West Africa and is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Because sources are not fully aligned on whether the eVisa is mandatory versus VOA being available, the conservative and accurate verdict for a short tourist stay is visa on arrival.
