🇷🇺Russian Federation🇳🇪NigerRU-NE Russian Federation to Niger visa requirements
A Russian ordinary passport holder needs a visa to visit Niger for tourism. There is no visa-free entry and no reliable visa-free channel; only Russian diplomatic and service passport holders are exempt. The visa must be arranged before travel through a Niger embassy/consulate (there is none in Russia, so the nearest accredited mission is used). A pre-approved visa on arrival in Niamey is possible only with prior clearance from the Niger National Police. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory. As of 2026-05-30, holders of an ordinary Russian Federation passport must obtain a visa before traveling to Niger for tourism. Niger's visa policy exempts only a short list of nationalities (mainly ECOWAS members and a few others); Russia is not among them, and Russia is also explicitly excluded from Niger's transit-without-visa facility. The standard route is a paper/consular tourist visa obtained from a Niger embassy or consulate. Because Niger has no diplomatic mission inside Russia, applicants apply through the nearest accredited Niger embassy (commonly the missions serving the region, or via an authorized visa center). Visa on arrival at Diori Hamani International Airport (Niamey) exists but requires a pre-approved confirmation from the Niger National Police arranged in advance; it is not a walk-up facility and should not be relied on. Niger has been developing an online eVisa system through the Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DST), but it currently runs on a development/staging portal and is not confirmed as a fully operational, official channel open to all nationalities, so it should not be treated as a guaranteed option for Russian travelers. Note: Niger is not in the Schengen area, so the 90/180 Schengen rule and ETIAS do not apply. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry. Travelers should also note that Niger is under a state of emergency with serious security restrictions and that most foreign governments advise against travel; tourist visits are heavily constrained.
