Netherlands to Russian Federation visa requirements

Dutch passport holders need a visa for Russia, but can use the convenient unified e-visa for a short tourist visit of up to 30 days. Russia is not in the Schengen area. A Netherlands ordinary passport holder cannot enter Russia visa-free. Russia is not part of the Schengen area, and there is no visa-waiver agreement between Russia and the EU. However, the Netherlands is on the list of countries eligible for Russia's unified electronic visa (e-visa), which is the simplest channel for tourism. Confirmed via the official Russian MFA Consular Department e-visa portal (evisa.kdmid.ru): the unified e-visa is valid for 120 days from issue, permits a single entry with a maximum stay of 30 days, costs approximately USD 52, and is processed within no more than 4 calendar days. No invitation letter, hotel booking, or flight tickets are required, but travel medical insurance valid in Russia is mandatory. The e-visa is applied for fully online and is valid only for entry/exit through designated border crossing points (most major international airports such as Moscow Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and St Petersburg Pulkovo). Travelers planning a longer stay, multiple entries, or arrival via a non-designated crossing must instead obtain a traditional tourist visa through a Russian Visa Application Centre or the Embassy in The Hague.
