Malaysia to Ukraine visa requirements

Malaysian ordinary passport holders need a Ukraine e-Visa for tourism. Apply online at evisa.mfa.gov.ua for a single-entry visa allowing a stay of up to 30 days. Ukraine is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen/ETIAS rules do not apply. As of 30 May 2026, Malaysia is not on Ukraine's visa-free list, so an ordinary Malaysian passport holder must obtain a visa before travelling. The good news is that Malaysia is among the 45 nationalities (which include most ASEAN states) eligible for Ukraine's electronic visa (e-Visa), which was relaunched on 17 February 2025 after a wartime suspension. Tourists apply entirely online through the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs platform at evisa.mfa.gov.ua, uploading a passport scan, photo, proof of funds, accommodation/itinerary and a medical insurance policy with at least EUR 30,000 coverage valid for the whole stay. The standard e-Visa is single entry, issued for tourism (category C short-stay), and permits a stay of up to 30 days. The official government fee under the relaunched scheme is USD 20 for single entry (USD 30 for double entry), with urgent same-day-style processing available at double the fee; standard processing is about 3 business days. Note that older embassy pages still quote a legacy USD 85 fee with 9 business days processing, so budget for variability and rely on the live portal figure at payment. Ukraine is NOT a Schengen or EU member, so there is no 90/180 Schengen rule and ETIAS does not apply to entering Ukraine. Travellers should also be aware Ukraine remains under martial law with an active conflict; entry is permitted but curfews, region-specific restrictions and elevated travel advisories apply, and most foreign ministries advise against non-essential travel.
