Malaysia to Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) visa requirements

Malaysian ordinary passport holders can visit Taiwan visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism. No visa or fee is required — just a valid passport and the mandatory free online Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC). Malaysia is on Taiwan's visa-exemption list. Ordinary passport holders may enter for tourism or short visits without a visa for a stay of up to 30 days, which is non-extendable. The passport must be valid for at least six months on the date of entry, and travelers should hold a confirmed onward/return ticket and proof of accommodation. Since 1 October 2025, every foreign visitor — including those entering visa-free — must complete the free digital Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) online within three days (72 hours) before arrival; the paper arrival card has been retired. There is no application, no government fee, and no advance approval beyond submitting the TWAC. This visa-free status is long-standing and was not affected by Taiwan's 2016 ASEAN visa relaxations, which targeted other countries.
