No visa needed. Malaysian ordinary passport holders can enter Norway visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period, as Norway is part of the Schengen Area. Norway is a member of the Schengen Area, and Malaysia is on the Schengen visa-exemption list. A Malaysian ordinary passport holder can travel to Norway for tourism or short visits without a visa, staying up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the entire Schengen zone. The passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure date and issued within the last 10 years. No application or fee is required today. The one upcoming change is ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System): the EU has confirmed ETIAS will begin operations in the last quarter of 2026, after which visa-exempt travellers including Malaysians will need an online travel authorisation (EUR 20, valid up to 3 years) before entering Schengen. As of 2026-05-30, ETIAS is NOT yet required and there is a planned transitional grace period of at least 6 months once it launches. Entry remains discretionary: border officers may ask for proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds.
