Malaysia to Montenegro visa requirements

Malaysian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for Montenegro. You may enter and stay for tourism for up to 90 days within a 180-day period, visa-free. Montenegro grants visa-free entry to holders of ordinary Malaysian passports for short stays. You can travel for tourism, business or family visits for up to 90 days within any 180-day period without applying for a visa in advance. Montenegro is an EU candidate country but is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so neither a Schengen visa nor the upcoming ETIAS authorisation is required to enter Montenegro itself. Your passport should be valid for at least the duration of your stay (a 6-month validity buffer is strongly recommended and often expected by carriers and border officers). At the border you may be asked to show proof of onward or return travel, confirmed accommodation, and sufficient funds. If you plan to stay longer than 90 days, or to work or study, you must apply for a temporary residence permit or the appropriate visa through a Montenegrin embassy/consulate before exceeding the visa-free period. Note that visitors are technically required to register their stay with the local police within 24 hours of arrival; hotels and registered accommodation providers normally handle this automatically.
