Malaysia to Kazakhstan visa requirements

Malaysian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist trips to Kazakhstan. You can enter visa-free and stay up to 30 days per visit (maximum 90 days within any 180-day period). No visa or fee is required. Note: Kazakhstan has launched a free QazETA electronic travel authorization (ETA) that is currently optional during a pilot phase but is expected to become mandatory for visa-exempt air travelers in the near future, so check QazETA before you fly. As of 30 May 2026, Malaysia is on Kazakhstan's 30-day visa-free list for ordinary passport holders. Malaysians may enter Kazakhstan for tourism or short visits without a visa for up to 30 calendar days per entry, capped at a cumulative 90 days within any 180-day period. There is no application and no government fee for visa-free entry. Travelers should carry a passport valid for the duration of stay (six months beyond intended departure is the safe standard), proof of onward or return travel, and evidence of accommodation/funds. A separate development to watch: Kazakhstan introduced the QazETA mobile electronic travel authorization (ETA) system in mid-2025. During the current pilot, the ETA is recommended but not mandatory for visa-exempt nationals; authorities have signaled it will become a mandatory pre-arrival requirement (requested at least 72 hours before departure) once the pilot ends. The ETA itself is free. Verify QazETA status shortly before travel because mandatory rollout timing can change.
