No visa needed. Malaysian ordinary passport holders can enter Finland visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days in any 180-day period as part of the Schengen Area. As of 30 May 2026, Malaysian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for a short tourist visit to Finland. Malaysia is on the EU's visa-exempt list, so its nationals may enter the Schengen Area (which includes Finland) for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period for tourism, business or family visits. No application or fee is required for the visa-free entry itself; you simply present a valid passport at the border. Two EU systems are being phased in: the Entry/Exit System (EES) began a progressive rollout in October 2025 and registers biometric data at the border (no extra cost or pre-registration by you), and ETIAS, a pre-travel online authorisation, is scheduled to launch in Q4 2026 and only becomes mandatory after a transitional period (around April 2027). ETIAS is NOT a visa and is not yet required for travel on 30 May 2026. Once live, eligible travellers will apply online, pay roughly EUR 20, and the authorisation will be valid for up to 3 years. For now, the only firm requirement is a valid passport that meets Schengen rules.
