No visa needed. Malaysian ordinary passport holders may enter Switzerland visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Switzerland is part of the Schengen Area, and Malaysia is on the EU/Swiss visa-exempt list. As confirmed by the Swiss State Secretariat for Migration (SEM), Malaysian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism or business. You simply arrive with a valid passport and supporting documents (return ticket, accommodation, sufficient funds, travel insurance). The 90-day allowance is cumulative across the entire Schengen Area, not per country. As of 30 May 2026, no electronic pre-authorization is yet required. The EU's ETIAS travel authorization is scheduled to launch in the last quarter of 2026 (with a transitional grace period before full enforcement around 2027); once live it will be a mandatory online step for visa-exempt travelers including Malaysians, costing EUR 20 and valid up to 3 years.
