Mexico to Syria visa requirements

Mexican ordinary passport holders can obtain a visa on arrival for Syria. Since the transitional government's January 2025 reform, most nationalities (including Mexico) receive a tourist visa at the Lebanese/Jordanian land borders or at Damascus International Airport, paid in cash USD. The e-visa platform is not operational, so visa on arrival is the practical channel. As of mid-2026, Syria's post-January-2025 transitional government issues tourist visas on arrival to the great majority of nationalities. Mexico is not on Syria's short visa-free list (which covers only a handful of Arab states plus Malaysia/Mauritania), nor is it among the "restricted" nationalities that need advance pre-approval (such as China, India, Pakistan and African states). It therefore falls into the standard visa-on-arrival category. Mexican travelers can obtain the visa at the Lebanon or Jordan land crossings or at Damascus International Airport; the fee is paid in cash in US dollars and the visa generally permits a single short stay (commonly cited as 15-30 days). The previously mandatory tour-operator security clearance is no longer required for independent travel, though airlines sometimes still ask to see entry approval before boarding, so confirming with the airline and a Syrian mission before flying is prudent. Absolute restriction: any evidence of travel to Israel, or Israeli nationality, results in refused entry. Note that Syria remains under the highest-level "Do Not Travel" advisories from many governments due to armed conflict, terrorism and kidnapping risk; the visa channel exists but travel is strongly discouraged.
