Mexico to Somalia visa requirements

Mexican passport holders need an eVisa (eTAS) to visit Somalia. It must be obtained online before travel through the official portal (evisa.gov.so); embassies no longer issue visas in person. As of 1 September 2025, Somalia operates a mandatory Electronic Visa and Travel Authorization System (eVisa/eTAS) for all foreign visitors, including children. Mexico is not on Somalia's short visa-exempt list (only Rwanda and Malaysia enter visa-free) and is not among the African nationalities eligible for visa on arrival. Therefore a Mexican ordinary passport holder must apply for a Somalia eVisa online before traveling. The standard tourist eVisa is single entry, costs USD 65, is valid for 90 days from issue to enter the country, and permits a stay of up to 30 days. Processing typically takes 3-7 working days. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months. A notable feature of the Somali system is that non-Somali applicants generally must select a registered Sponsor Organization from the official list and obtain a sponsor letter/sponsor code; applications without a licensed sponsor frequently stall. Only the official government portal should be used, as third-party agencies often charge inflated fees.
