Mexico to Poland visa requirements

Mexican ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist or short visits to Poland. As an EU visa-exempt nationality, they may enter Poland (and the rest of the Schengen Area) and stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period. ETIAS travel authorization is expected to become mandatory in late 2026, but as of mid-2026 it is not yet required. Poland is a member of the Schengen Area, and Mexico appears on the EU's visa-exemption list (Annex II of EU Regulation 2018/1806). This means Mexican citizens with an ordinary passport can travel to Poland for tourism, business, family visits, or transit without obtaining a visa in advance, for short stays of up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period across the entire Schengen zone. No fee or application is required for the visa-free entry itself; travelers simply present a valid passport at the border, where they may be asked to show proof of accommodation, return/onward tickets, sufficient funds, and travel insurance. The 90/180 rule is counted across all Schengen countries combined, not per country, so time already spent in other Schengen states (e.g., Germany, France, Spain) reduces the allowance available for Poland. The key upcoming change is the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS): once it launches (currently scheduled for the last quarter of 2026, with a transitional grace period of about six months), visa-exempt nationals such as Mexicans will need to obtain an ETIAS authorization online before travel. ETIAS is a visa waiver, not a visa; it costs EUR 20, is valid for three years (or until the passport expires), and allows multiple entries within the 90/180 limit. As of June 2026 ETIAS is not yet in force, so Mexican travelers currently need only a valid passport. Travelers should also be aware of the Entry/Exit System (EES), the EU's automated border registration of non-EU visitors. Passports should be biometric and valid for at least three months beyond the planned departure from the Schengen Area, and issued within the previous 10 years.
