Mexico to Oman visa requirements

Mexican ordinary passport holders generally need an eVisa for tourism in Oman. Oman's 14-day visa-free entry does NOT apply to Mexico unconditionally — Mexico is in the conditional category, so visa-free is only available to those who already hold a valid visa or residence permit from the US, UK, Canada, a Schengen country, Australia, or Japan (or a qualifying GCC residence). Everyone else must apply online for an eVisa via the Royal Oman Police portal before travel. As of mid-2026, Oman maintains a tiered entry policy. A large list of countries enjoys unconditional 14-day visa-free entry, but Mexico is NOT on that list. Mexico falls under the CONDITIONAL 14-day visa-free category: a Mexican citizen can enter without a visa for up to 14 (non-extendable) days only if they hold a valid entry visa or residence permit from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, a Schengen Area country, Australia, or Japan (or are a GCC resident in an approved profession), plus a passport valid 6+ months, return ticket, confirmed hotel booking, travel health insurance and proof of funds. A Mexican traveler who does NOT hold one of those qualifying documents must obtain an Oman eVisa (Tourist Visit Visa, Unsponsored) before travel through the official Royal Oman Police portal at evisa.rop.gov.om. The standard tourist eVisa is issued as a 10-day single entry (5 OMR), a 30-day single entry (20 OMR), or a 1-year multiple entry with 30-day stays per visit (50 OMR), with online processing typically 1-4 business days. Because the conditional visa-free channel cannot be guaranteed for most Mexican travelers, the safe and universally applicable route is the eVisa. Oman is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
