Mexico to New Caledonia visa requirements

Mexican ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist stays in New Caledonia of up to 3 months within any 6-month period. New Caledonia is a French overseas collectivity that sets its own entry policy and is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so ETIAS does not apply. New Caledonia is a French Pacific overseas collectivity (collectivite d'outre-mer) that applies its own visa policy, separate from metropolitan Schengen France. Mexico is on the visa-exemption list for short stays, so Mexican ordinary passport holders may enter visa-free for tourism or business for up to 3 months (90 days) within any 6-month period. Note this is the New Caledonia rule (3 months / 6 months), which differs slightly from the standard Schengen 90/180 framing. Because New Caledonia sits outside the Schengen Area, the upcoming EU ETIAS travel authorisation (which Mexicans will need for European Schengen France from 2026) does NOT apply to a trip to New Caledonia. No visa, eVisa, or ETA is required. Travelers should still carry a valid passport (issued within the last 10 years, valid at least 3 months beyond departure, with at least two blank pages), a confirmed return/onward ticket, proof of sufficient funds, accommodation details, and mandatory travel insurance covering medical repatriation. Stays beyond 3 months or for work/study require a long-stay visa applied for in advance through France-Visas / the French consulate in Mexico.
