Mexico to Luxembourg visa requirements

Mexican ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism or short visits to Luxembourg. As a Schengen member, Luxembourg allows visa-free stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. ETIAS is not yet required (expected late 2026). Mexico is on Annex II of EU Regulation (EU) 2018/1806, the list of third countries whose nationals are exempt from the Schengen short-stay visa requirement. Luxembourg is a full member of the Schengen Area, so Mexican citizens holding an ordinary passport may enter Luxembourg for tourism, business, family visits or transit without a visa, for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period (counted across the entire Schengen Area, not just Luxembourg). Travelers must hold a passport valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure date and issued within the previous 10 years, and may be asked at the border for proof of onward/return travel, sufficient funds, accommodation and travel medical insurance. The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is a pre-travel authorization that will become mandatory for visa-exempt nationals such as Mexicans, but it is NOT yet operational as of 1 June 2026; the European Commission expects it to start in late 2026 (around Q4), followed by a transitional grace period. Until ETIAS is formally launched and the transition period ends, no advance authorization is needed beyond a valid passport. Stays beyond 90 days or for work/study require a national long-stay visa or residence permit, which is a separate process.
