Mexico to Greece visa requirements

Mexican ordinary passport holders can visit Greece visa-free for short tourist stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen Area. No visa is required as of June 2026. Note: the EU's ETIAS travel authorization is expected to become required for visa-exempt nationals (including Mexico) starting in late 2026, with mandatory enforcement phasing in during 2027. Greece is a member of the Schengen Area, and Mexico has a visa-waiver arrangement with the European Union for short stays. A Mexican citizen holding an ordinary passport may enter Greece and travel throughout the Schengen Area for tourism, business, family visits, or transit without a visa for up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period. The 90 days are cumulative across all Schengen states, not per country, so time spent in any other Schengen country counts against the same allowance. Entry requirements include a biometric (e-passport) issued within the last 10 years and valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended date of departure from the Schengen Area. Travelers should also be prepared to show proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, sufficient funds, and travel insurance at the border. A major change is coming: the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is scheduled to begin operating in the last quarter of 2026, with a transitional grace period before it becomes fully mandatory (expected to phase into 2027). ETIAS is a pre-travel authorization (a visa waiver, not a visa) that visa-exempt nationals such as Mexicans will need to obtain online before travel. The official fee is EUR 7 (applicants under 18 or over 70 are exempt from the fee), and an approved ETIAS is valid for up to 3 years or until the linked passport expires, whichever comes first. As of 1 June 2026, ETIAS is not yet required, so the current verdict remains visa-free. Travelers should check the official EU ETIAS portal before booking for the latest start date.
