Mexico to Ghana visa requirements

Mexican ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Ghana, and as of 2026 the standard route is the official Ghana eVisa applied for online before travel at evisa.immigration.gov.gh. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry. Ghana is not a visa-free destination for Mexican citizens. On 25 May 2026 Ghana launched a national e-Visa platform (evisa.immigration.gov.gh) run by the Ghana Immigration Service, which became the primary way to obtain a Ghana visa for tourism and business and largely replaced the older visa-on-arrival and embassy-only processes. A separate visa-fee waiver and free Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) introduced the same day applies ONLY to holders of African passports; it does not extend to Mexican nationals. Therefore a Mexico ordinary passport holder must apply online for a paid tourist eVisa (single or multiple entry) before departure, supply standard supporting documents, and present a yellow fever vaccination certificate on arrival. The eVisa is issued electronically, with standard processing of roughly 72-96 hours and faster priority/express tiers available at higher cost. Fees are quoted in US dollars and are relatively high compared with regional peers (single-entry around USD 260). Travelers should apply only through the official government portal and avoid third-party resellers that add markups. Because Mexico is outside the African fee-waiver scheme and sources consistently confirm a visa is required, the conservative and accurate verdict is eVisa required.
