Mexico to Brunei visa requirements

Mexican ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Brunei. Mexico is classified under Category A by Brunei's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, meaning a visa must be obtained in advance from the nearest Brunei diplomatic mission. There is no visa-free or visa-on-arrival channel for Mexican tourists. All travelers must also complete a free e-Arrival Card online before arrival. As of 2026, Brunei Darussalam requires Mexican ordinary passport holders to obtain a visa before traveling. Brunei's official visa policy sorts nationalities into four categories; Mexico falls in Category A, which requires applying for a visa through the nearest Brunei mission abroad (there is no Brunei embassy resident in Mexico, so applications are typically handled through the nearest accredited mission, such as Washington, D.C., or another regional consulate). Mexico does not appear on Brunei's visa-free (Category D) or visa-on-arrival (Category C) lists. Tourist/visit visas are valid for up to three months from issue, cost USD 20 (single entry) or USD 30 (multiple entry), and normally take about seven working days to process, though applications forwarded to Brunei can take up to a month. Passports must be valid at least six months beyond the intended date of entry with at least one blank page. Separately, since the e-Arrival Card system launched, every foreign traveler must register the free e-Arrival Card online within 72 hours before arrival by air, land, or sea; this is mandatory but is not a visa and does not replace one. The only visa-free exception for Mexicans is for holders of a valid APEC Business Travel Card endorsed with the "BRN" code (business travel only, not tourism). Brunei is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
