South Korea to El Salvador visa requirements

South Korean ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in El Salvador. They enter under El Salvador's visa-exemption list and buy a USD 12 tourist card on arrival, allowing a short stay of up to 90 days within the CA-4 region (El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua). El Salvador grants visa-free entry to holders of ordinary South Korean passports for tourism and short visits. There is no advance visa, eVisa, or pre-arrival ETA to obtain. On arrival by air or sea, travelers pay a USD 12 tourist card fee (El Salvador uses the US dollar as its official currency). The permitted stay is up to 90 days, but because El Salvador is part of the Central America-4 (CA-4) Border Control Agreement with Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, that 90-day allowance is shared across all four countries combined, not 90 days per country. Some sources cite a possible 180-day allowance depending on passport validity and purpose, but the practical, conservative figure for a tourist is 90 days region-wide, extendable once at local immigration. Passports should be valid for the stay (six months' validity is the safe standard) with at least one blank page. El Salvador is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. Travelers should carry proof of onward/return travel and sufficient funds.
