South Korea to Mozambique visa requirements

South Korean ordinary passport holders are visa-exempt for Mozambique (up to 30 days), but Mozambique now requires these travelers to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) online via the official portal evisa.gov.mz before departure. No traditional visa or embassy appointment is needed. South Korea (Republic of Korea) is one of 29 nationalities granted visa exemption by Mozambique since 1 May 2023, allowing ordinary passport holders to enter for tourism or business for up to 30 days, extendable once for a further 30 days. However, exemption from a full visa does not mean no pre-travel formality: Mozambique introduced a mandatory Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for these visa-exempt nationals in early May 2025. The ETA was temporarily suspended on 16 May 2025 because of technical problems with the registration system, and during that window travelers could board and enter without it. On 11 February 2026 Mozambique launched a new, unified eVisa/ETA digital platform (evisa.gov.mz) replacing the old system, and current official and airline guidance is that visa-exempt travelers should hold an approved ETA, with carriers permitted to request proof before boarding. Because enforcement has fluctuated and the conservative, safest course is to obtain the ETA, the recommended verdict is ETA. The ETA carries a fee of roughly USD 48-50, is typically processed within about 48 hours (apply 3-5 days ahead), permits a single entry for a 30-day tourist stay, and requires a passport valid 6+ months with two blank pages, proof of accommodation, and a return/onward ticket. Travelers who cannot or do not obtain an ETA may still, in practice, be processed under visa exemption at the border during periods of suspension, but this should not be relied upon. Verify status on evisa.gov.mz immediately before booking, as the requirement may be reinstated or adjusted without notice.
