🇰🇷South Korea🇲🇷MauritaniaKR-MR South Korea to Mauritania visa requirements
South Korean ordinary passport holders need an e-Visa to visit Mauritania for tourism. Apply online via the official ANRPTS portal before traveling; visa-on-arrival was discontinued on 5 January 2025. As of 2026, South Korea is not among the small group of nationalities (mostly West/North African neighbors) granted visa-free entry to Mauritania. Since 5 January 2025, Mauritania has required a pre-arrival electronic visa (e-Visa) for all visa-required nationalities, and visa-on-arrival at Nouakchott airport and land borders is no longer issued. Mauritanian embassies stopped issuing visas around mid-2025 and now refer applicants to the e-Visa portal. South Korean travelers must therefore apply online through the National Agency for the Population Register and Secure Titles (ANRPTS) at anrpts.gov.mr, upload a passport scan and photo, and present a printed e-Visa with QR code on arrival. The standard 30-day tourist e-Visa fee is approximately EUR 55 / USD 60, paid in exact cash in EUR or USD on arrival (no online payment, no change given). Processing typically takes a few business days but can extend to 1-2 weeks, so applying well ahead of travel is advised. A passport valid at least six months beyond the stay and a yellow fever vaccination certificate are required.
