South Korea to Kuwait visa requirements

South Korean ordinary passport holders need a visa for Kuwait, but can obtain it easily online via the Kuwait Ministry of Interior eVisa portal (kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw) before travel. A visa on arrival by air is also available. South Korea is one of the 53 nationalities eligible for both channels. As of 2026, South Korean ordinary passport holders are not visa-free for Kuwait, but they qualify for Kuwait's electronic visa (eVisa) and, when arriving by air, visa on arrival. The recommended route is the eVisa, applied for in advance through the official Ministry of Interior portal at kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw, which was relaunched in July 2025 as part of Kuwait's digital services push. The single-entry tourist eVisa is approved within 1-3 business days (often within 48 hours) and permits a short tourist stay. The base government fee is KWD 3, but since 23 December 2025 all visitors must also hold mandatory health insurance (about KWD 5) and pay a per-month-of-stay charge (about KWD 10/month), so a typical one-month tourist visa totals roughly KWD 18. Kuwait is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travelers should carry a passport valid at least 6 months with blank pages, proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds. Because the system was recently relaunched and the health-insurance rule is new, applicants should rely on the official MOI portal and confirm current fees at the time of application.
