🇰🇷SOUTH KOREA🇫🇮FINLANDKR-FI Do South Korea passport holders need a visa to visit Finland?
No visa needed. South Korean ordinary passport holders can visit Finland visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period as a Schengen short-stay visitor. Finland is a member of the Schengen Area, and South Korea is on the EU's visa-exempt list for short stays. As of 30 May 2026, a South Korean ordinary passport holder may enter Finland for tourism without any visa, for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period (counted across all Schengen states combined). You simply need a valid passport, proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds. The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is expected to begin operations in the last quarter of 2026; once it becomes mandatory after a transitional period, visa-exempt nationals including South Koreans will need a pre-travel ETIAS authorisation (a quick online application, not a visa). It is NOT yet required for travel on 30 May 2026. The EU Entry/Exit System (EES) — biometric registration replacing passport stamps — began phased rollout in October 2025 and is being completed during 2026; expect fingerprint/photo capture at the border instead of an ink stamp. Anyone intending to stay longer than 90 days, work, or study still needs the appropriate residence permit or national long-stay (D) visa.
