🇰🇷SOUTH KOREA🇪🇬EGYPTKR-EG Do South Korea passport holders need a visa to visit Egypt?
South Korean ordinary passport holders need a visa for Egypt. The recommended route is the official online e-Visa (single entry, 30-day stay, USD 25); visa on arrival at major airports (USD 25) is also available. Egypt is not visa-free for South Korean (Republic of Korea) ordinary passport holders. A visa is required for tourism, and there are two practical pathways. The recommended one is the official electronic visa (e-Visa) obtained in advance at the Egyptian government portal visa2egypt.gov.eg, which costs USD 25 for a single entry and grants a stay of up to 30 days. South Korea is among the roughly 180 nationalities eligible to apply online. Alternatively, a visa on arrival (also USD 25, single entry, 30 days) can be purchased at the bank/visa counter in the arrivals hall of major international airports such as Cairo, Hurghada, and Sharm El Sheikh before reaching passport control. The e-Visa is recommended because it removes airport queues and provides confirmed authorization before travel. Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and have at least one blank page. There is no bilateral visa-exemption agreement covering ordinary passports, so travelers should not expect visa-free entry. Visa on arrival is sold for cash (USD preferred); the e-Visa is paid online by card. Both options are for tourism/short visits only; longer stays, work, or study require a different visa applied for through an Egyptian embassy or consulate.

For guidance only — visa rules change with little notice. Always confirm directly with the destination's embassy or foreign ministry before booking non-refundable travel. Information here applies to ordinary (non-diplomatic) passports unless noted.
