Do South Korea passport holders need a visa to visit DK?
No visa needed. South Korean ordinary passport holders can enter Denmark visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen area. ETIAS is not yet required as of 30 May 2026. Denmark is part of the Schengen area, and South Korea is on the EU visa-exempt list (Annex II of Regulation (EU) 2018/1806). South Korean ordinary passport holders may travel to Denmark for tourism, business, or transit without a visa for stays of up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period, counted across all Schengen countries combined. As of 30 May 2026, no pre-travel authorization is required. Two new EU border systems are relevant: the Entry/Exit System (EES), which launched on 12 October 2025 and registers biometric data (facial image and fingerprints) at the border instead of passport stamps; and ETIAS, the European Travel Information and Authorisation System, a EUR 20 online authorization that is expected to become mandatory in the last quarter of 2026 (with a transitional period before it becomes compulsory). Until ETIAS is live and mandatory, South Koreans need only a valid passport. Travelers should carry proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds, and ensure the passport is valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure date from the Schengen area.
