South Korea to Botswana visa requirements

South Korean ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Botswana. They may enter visa-free and stay up to 90 days within any 365-day period. Botswana grants visa-free entry to holders of South Korean ordinary passports for tourism and short visits. On arrival, the immigration officer stamps an entry permit allowing a stay of up to 90 days within a 365-day (12-month) period. No advance visa, eVisa, or electronic travel authorization is required for this route as of 2026. Travelers simply present a valid passport, proof of onward/return travel, and evidence of sufficient funds and accommodation at the port of entry (e.g., Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Gaborone or land borders). The passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry and contain at least one to two blank pages for the entry stamp. Botswana operates an eVisa system (launched August 2021) only for nationals of countries that DO require a visa; South Koreans are not among those and therefore do not use it. There is no Botswana visa fee for visa-exempt nationals. Stays beyond 90 days, or travel for work, study, or business beyond simple meetings, require an appropriate visa or permit obtained in advance. Because Botswana is in Southern Africa and not part of the Schengen area, the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
