South Korea to Burkina Faso visa requirements

South Korean ordinary passport holders need a visa for Burkina Faso. The recommended channel is the official online eVisa (visaburkina.bf), which permits a short tourist stay of up to 90 days. South Korea is not on Burkina Faso's visa-exemption list, and visa on arrival is no longer routinely available. As of 2026, a South Korea (KR) ordinary passport holder traveling to Burkina Faso (BF) for tourism must obtain a visa in advance. South Korea is not among Burkina Faso's visa-exempt nationalities (which cover ECOWAS member states plus a short list of others such as Singapore, UAE, Morocco, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, and Hong Kong). Since the launch of the national eVisa portal on 17 August 2023, the standard and recommended route is the online eVisa applied for at the official government site visaburkina.bf, with electronic payment and email delivery of the approved visa. The short-stay (court sejour) eVisa authorizes a stay of up to 90 days; it is issued as either single or multiple entry and cannot be extended. Official government fees are 33,000 F CFA (XOF) for single entry and 55,000 F CFA for multiple entry, with an express option at 104,500 F CFA for emergency travel. A printed copy of the approved eVisa must be presented at boarding and on arrival. Burkina Faso also requires a valid International Certificate of Vaccination against yellow fever for travelers over nine months to one year old. Visa on arrival is now issued only in exceptional circumstances and should not be relied upon. Note that many third-party sites mimic the official portal; applicants should use visaburkina.bf directly. Travelers should also review their home-country security advisories before booking, as Burkina Faso has significant security concerns.
