Japanese ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist trips to Qatar. A Japanese ordinary passport holder receives a free visa-waiver stamp on arrival at Hamad International Airport (or land/sea borders), permitting a stay of up to 30 days. The waiver is single-entry but can be extended once for an additional 30 days while inside Qatar. The passport must be valid for at least three months from the date of arrival, and travelers should be able to show a confirmed hotel booking and onward/return ticket.
