Japan to Qatar visa requirements

Japanese ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist trips to Qatar. A visa waiver is granted free on arrival, valid for 30 days from entry (single entry, extendable once for a further 30 days). Japan is on Qatar's visa-waiver list. A Japanese ordinary passport holder receives a free visa-waiver stamp on arrival at Hamad International Airport (or land/sea borders), permitting a stay of up to 30 days. The waiver is single-entry but can be extended once for an additional 30 days while inside Qatar. The passport must be valid for at least three months from the date of arrival, and travelers should be able to show a confirmed hotel booking and onward/return ticket. No advance application is required. Optionally, travelers can pre-arrange a Hayya A1 tourist e-visa (QAR 100) online via hayya.qa, or a Qatar-Oman Joint Tourist Visa covering both countries. Qatar is not part of the Schengen Area, so the 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. As accuracy is critical, this verdict is confirmed against Visit Qatar (the official tourism/immigration portal) and Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
