Do Japan passport holders need a visa to visit Philippines?

Visa-free up to 30 days. eTravel registration mandatory before arrival. Japanese ordinary passport holders enter the Philippines visa-free for up to 30 days under the Balikbayan-style visa-waiver list. The exemption covers tourism, business meetings, and family visits. All travellers — including visa-free arrivals — must complete the mandatory eTravel registration online within 72 hours before arrival (replaced the older Bureau of Quarantine forms). The 30-day stay can be extended in-country at any Bureau of Immigration office for an additional 29 days (one extension) or longer, up to a total of 36 months for tourism, with progressively higher fees. For work, study, journalism, or stays planned beyond the initial 30 days the corresponding Philippine visa is required at the embassy in Tokyo or consulate in Osaka.
