Japan to Fiji visa requirements

Japanese ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist trips to Fiji. Japan is on Fiji's visa-exempt list, so travelers receive a free Visitors Permit on arrival valid for up to 4 months. Japan is one of over 100 countries on Fiji's visa-exempt list. A Japanese citizen traveling for tourism, business meetings, or to visit family does not apply for a visa in advance. On arrival, immigration issues a free Visitors Permit valid for up to four (4) months. The permit prohibits employment, study, or long-term residence. To board and enter, travelers must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended departure date from Fiji, a confirmed onward or return ticket, proof of sufficient funds, and accommodation details. The four-month permit can be extended once at the Department of Immigration for a further two months (maximum six months total) for an application fee of FJ$93; no further extension is granted. Admission is always at the discretion of the immigration officer at the port of entry. Fiji is not in the Schengen area, so the 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
