Italy to Kazakhstan visa requirements

Italian (EU/OECD) ordinary passport holders can enter Kazakhstan visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days per entry. No visa, eVisa, or pre-arrival approval is required. As of 2026, Italy is covered by Kazakhstan's unilateral visa-free regime for citizens of EU and OECD member states. An Italian ordinary passport holder may enter Kazakhstan for tourism, business, transit, or a short visit without obtaining any visa and stay for up to 30 calendar days per entry. Across multiple entries, total stay must not exceed 90 days within any rolling 180-day period; longer stays require a visa or temporary residence permit. Kazakhstan is NOT part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply here (those are separate rules that would apply to a Kazakh visiting the EU, not vice versa). For short tourist stays, your hotel registers your arrival automatically; if you stay in private accommodation you (or your host) should register with the migration police, generally within 3 working days. A passport valid for the duration of stay is required, and travelers are advised to carry at least 6 months of validity plus proof of onward travel. Stays beyond 30 days, work, or study require an appropriate visa applied for in advance.
