Italy to China visa requirements

Visa-free up to 30 days under China's unilateral policy. Extended through 31 December 2026. Italian ordinary passport holders enter mainland China visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism, business, family visits, exchanges, or transit. Italy was in the first unilateral visa-free pilot that began on 1 December 2023 with a 15-day stay, the stay was extended to 30 days from 30 November 2024, and the programme is extended through 31 December 2026. No visa application or fee is required, but travelers must complete China's free foreigner Arrival Card online before travel or at the port of entry unless exempt. The stay is counted from 00:00 on the day after entry. Use an ordinary Italian passport valid for at least 6 months; paid work, formal study, journalism, other passport types, and stays beyond 30 days still require the appropriate visa.
