Italy to Cambodia visa requirements
Italian passport holders need a visa for Cambodia. The simplest option for a short tourist trip is the Cambodia eVisa (Type T), applied for online at the official portal evisa.gov.kh before travel. It costs USD 30, allows a single entry with a stay of up to 30 days, and is approved in about 1-3 business days. A visa on arrival (also USD 30) is an alternative at major international airports and land borders. There is no visa-free or visa-waiver arrangement between Italy and Cambodia, so Italian (EU) ordinary passport holders must obtain a visa before or upon entry. Cambodia is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply to this route. The recommended route is the official Cambodia eVisa (Tourist visa, Type T), an electronic single-entry visa applied for online at evisa.gov.kh. As of January 1, 2025 the government lowered the official eVisa tourist fee from USD 36 to USD 30 (plus card processing). The eVisa is valid for 3 months from issue, permits a single entry, and allows a stay of up to 30 days, extendable once for a further 30 days at the General Department of Immigration in Cambodia. The eVisa is accepted at the three international airports (Phnom Penh, Siem Reap-Angkor, Sihanoukville) and at several major land borders (Bavet, Poipet, Cham Yeam, Tropeang Kreal); note that not all minor land crossings accept it, and overland arrivals from Thailand often use visa on arrival instead. A visa on arrival (USD 30, single entry, 30 days) is available at the main airports and major border crossings as an alternative. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry and have at least one blank page; one recent passport-style photo is required. Overstays are fined at USD 10 per day.
