India to Poland visa requirements

Indian passport holders need a Schengen visa (Type C) to visit Poland for tourism. There is no visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival. Poland is a member of the Schengen Area, and Indian ordinary passport holders are on the list of nationalities that require a visa for any short stay. To visit Poland for tourism you must apply in advance for a Type C short-stay Schengen visa, which permits stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. Applications are submitted in person at a VFS Global Visa Application Centre in India (with biometric fingerprinting), on behalf of the Embassy/Consulate of Poland. The standard adult visa fee is EUR 90, plus a VFS service charge, and the consulate decides within 15 calendar days (extendable to 45 days). Required documents include a valid passport, travel medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000, proof of accommodation and return travel, and evidence of sufficient funds (around PLN 75 per day). ETIAS does NOT replace this requirement: ETIAS is a travel authorisation only for visa-exempt nationalities, and India is not visa-exempt. When ETIAS launches (planned for the last quarter of 2026), Indian nationals will continue to use the full Schengen visa process and will not need ETIAS in addition. Be conservative and apply early, ideally 4-6 weeks before travel, as appointment availability and processing can vary by season.
