India to Myanmar visa requirements

Indian passport holders need a visa for Myanmar. The simplest, most plannable option is the official tourist eVisa (USD 50), which permits a 28-day single-entry stay. A Visa on Arrival pilot (USD 50, up to 30 days) is also currently available through 29 August 2026. Myanmar is not visa-free for Indian (IN) ordinary passport holders, and it is not part of the Schengen area. The recommended route for tourism is the official Myanmar tourist eVisa applied for online at evisa.moip.gov.mm before travel. The tourist eVisa costs USD 50, is single-entry, allows a stay of up to 28 days, and is valid for entry within 90 days of issue; standard processing is about 3 working days, with an express 24-hour option available. eVisa holders must enter through Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw, or Mandalay international airports (or the Kawthaung land checkpoint). Separately, Myanmar has extended a Tourist Visa on Arrival pilot for Indian and Chinese nationals from 30 August 2025 to 29 August 2026: USD 50, up to 30 days, obtained at the three main international airports without prior online application. Because the VoA is a time-limited pilot and depends on arriving at specific airports, the pre-arranged eVisa is the safer default for most travelers. If sources or fees change, always confirm on the official eVisa portal before paying.
