India to Moldova visa requirements
Indian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Moldova, but a short-stay tourist eVisa (Type C/T) can be obtained online via the official portal evisa.gov.md before travel. Moldova is a visa-required destination for Indian ordinary passport holders, and there is no visa-on-arrival. The convenient route is the government eVisa, applied for online at the official portal evisa.gov.md. The relevant category for tourism is a short-stay Type C visa, sub-category Tourism (C/T), which permits a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. The standard consular fee is EUR 40, with processing typically taking around 10 to 20 calendar days, so applying at least three weeks ahead is advisable. Required documents include a passport valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure (issued within the last 10 years), a recent passport photo, confirmed return/onward tickets, accommodation proof, and evidence of sufficient funds (about EUR 30 per day, minimum EUR 300). Important: Moldova is NOT in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to entry into Moldova itself. However, a useful exemption exists: Indian travelers who already hold a valid multiple-entry Schengen or EU 'C' or 'D' visa or residence permit may enter Moldova visa-free for short stays, in which case a separate Moldovan eVisa is not required. A bilateral visa-waiver agreement signed with India in May 2024 covers only diplomatic and official passports and remains pending ratification, so it does not benefit ordinary passport tourists.
