India to Lesotho visa requirements

Indian passport holders need a visa to visit Lesotho. The online eVisa system is currently SUSPENDED, so you must apply in advance by email to Lesotho's Immigration Department (or via a Lesotho mission). If approved, you receive a 72-hour visa-on-arrival approval letter to collect the visa on entry. There is no genuine visa-free or open visa-on-arrival access for Indians. India (ordinary passport) is NOT on Lesotho's visa-exempt list, and Lesotho's electronic visa (eVisa) portal is officially suspended as of 2026. The practical route is a pre-arrival application: applicants email their documents to the Lesotho Immigration Department (VISA-Applications.Immigration@gov.ls) or apply through a Lesotho diplomatic mission. After processing (up to about 10 working days), approved applicants receive a 72-hour visa-on-arrival letter and complete visa issuance at Maseru port or Moshoeshoe I International Airport. Official fees for ordinary passports are M1,000 (single entry) and M2,000 (multiple entry), payable in Lesotho Loti / South African Rand. Single-entry visas allow stays up to 44 days; multiple-entry visas allow multiple trips within 180 days. Because the eVisa channel is down and arrival is conditional on prior approval, the conservative and accurate verdict is visa-required. Passport must be valid at least 6 months. A yellow fever certificate is required if arriving from an endemic area.
