India to Kenya visa requirements

Indian ordinary passport holders need an approved Kenya Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before travelling. There is no visa-free or visa-on-arrival channel for India. Apply online at the official portal etakenya.go.ke at least 3 working days before departure. Since January 2024 Kenya has replaced its visa and eVisa systems with a mandatory Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) for most non-exempt nationalities. In 2025 Kenya removed the eTA/visa requirement for nationals of nearly all African and several Caribbean countries, but India is NOT on the exemption list. Indian ordinary passport holders must therefore obtain an approved eTA before boarding. (Only Indian diplomatic, official and service passport holders are exempt, for up to 90 days.) The eTA is applied for online via the official government portal etakenya.go.ke, is normally processed within about 3 working days, costs roughly USD 30 plus a small processing charge (total commonly shown as about USD 32.50-34), and permits a stay of up to 90 days. It is issued as a single-entry authorization, though it allows movement within East African Community partner states while valid. Travelers should apply only through the official site and avoid third-party agents that add fees.

Missing accommodation proof, itinerary, or mismatched passport details can delay or cause rejection.
Medium
/04
Passport validity too short
Passport must be valid at least 6 months from entry; shorter validity leads to denial.

Used unofficial third-party site
Third-party agents charge extra fees and can cause errors; only etakenya.go.ke is official.
