India to Ghana visa requirements

Indian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Ghana. There is no visa on arrival for ordinary passports, but Ghana launched a national eVisa portal on 25 May 2026, so the fastest route is now an online eVisa applied for before travel. Embassy/High Commission visas remain available. A holder of an Indian ordinary passport requires a visa to enter Ghana for tourism or a short visit. Visa on arrival is NOT available to ordinary Indian passport holders. As of 25 May 2026, Ghana operates a national electronic visa system (evisa.immigration.gov.gh), making the eVisa the most practical option; travelers apply, pay, and receive an emailed authorization before flying. The traditional route through the Ghana High Commission in New Delhi (and its authorized portal visa.ghana-mission.co.in) is still available. The Ghana High Commission New Delhi lists a single-entry visa valid for 3 months at INR 8,500, with multiple-entry options at INR 17,000 (6 months) and INR 25,500 (12 months). All travelers to Ghana must carry a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate, administered at least 10 days before arrival. Diplomatic, official, and service passport holders are visa-exempt for up to 90 days, but this does not apply to ordinary passports. Passport must be valid 6 months beyond arrival with at least one blank page. Because visa-free or visa-on-arrival channels are unavailable for ordinary Indian passports, the verdict is a required visa, best fulfilled via eVisa.
