India to Spain visa requirements

Indian passport holders need a Schengen short-stay visa for Spain. Adult fee is EUR 90, currently INR 9,599 at BLS India, plus the BLS service charge. Indian ordinary passport holders remain Annex I visa-required nationals under EU Regulation 2018/1806, so they need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before visiting Spain for tourism or business. A Schengen C visa covers short stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period and may be single, double, or multiple entry. Apply through BLS in India when Spain is the main destination, or the first Schengen entry for equal-length stays; BLS accepts applications from India residents in the correct Delhi or Mumbai consular jurisdiction and lists centres including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Puducherry, Chandigarh, and Jalandhar. The harmonised Schengen fee is EUR 90 for adults and EUR 45 for children aged 6-12; BLS India currently lists INR 9,599, INR 4,799, and an INR 1,802 service charge, subject to exchange-rate changes. Normal processing is 15 calendar days, but it can extend to 45 days if further examination or documents are required. The EU Entry/Exit System (EES) became fully operational on 10 April 2026. ETIAS is scheduled for the last quarter of 2026, but it is for visa-free nationals only, so it does not replace the visa requirement for Indians. Work, study, family residence, non-lucrative residence, and digital nomad or telework stays are separate Spanish national-visa routes.
