India to Estonia visa requirements

Indian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen Type C short-stay visa before traveling to Estonia for tourism. There is no visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or eVisa option, and ETIAS does not apply to Indian nationals. Estonia is a full member of the Schengen Area, and India is not on the EU visa-exemption list. As a result, Indian ordinary passport holders must obtain a uniform Schengen Type C short-stay visa in advance, applied for through VFS Global centres in India on behalf of the Estonian Embassy in New Delhi. The visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. Because ETIAS only covers visa-exempt nationalities, it does NOT apply to Indian travelers — they continue to use the Schengen visa channel. The standard fee is EUR 90 (about INR 8,300), plus a VFS service charge. Travelers must show travel medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000, proof of accommodation, return travel, and sufficient funds (about EUR 70 per day). Apply no earlier than 6 months and no later than 15 working days before departure; biometrics are required in person. Standard processing is 15 calendar days but can extend to 45 days.
