🇮🇳India🇩🇴Dominican RepublicIN-DO India to Dominican Republic visa requirements
Indian ordinary passport holders need a tourist visa for the Dominican Republic, obtained in advance from the Dominican Embassy in New Delhi. Important exception: if you hold a valid US, Canada, UK, or Schengen visa (or are a legal resident of those), you can skip the visa and buy a US$10 tourist card on arrival. Everyone must also complete the free E-Ticket online before flying. As of mid-2026, India is not on the Dominican Republic's visa-exempt or visa-on-arrival list, so an ordinary Indian passport holder traveling for tourism must in principle obtain a Dominican tourist visa in advance through the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in New Delhi. The Dominican Republic is in the Caribbean and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. There is a widely-used and officially recognized shortcut: under a long-standing measure (most recently extended through 31 December 2026), any traveler regardless of nationality who holds a valid US, Canadian, UK, or Schengen visa, or is a legal resident of those jurisdictions, may enter without a Dominican visa and instead obtain a tourist card (about US$10) on arrival for tourism. This benefits many Indian travelers in practice. Indian nationals without such a visa must apply for the consular tourist visa. Separately, all arriving and departing passengers (visa or not) must complete the free electronic E-Ticket at eticket.migracion.gob.do, which produces a QR code shown at boarding and on arrival. Because the baseline channel for a plain Indian passport requires an advance visa and sources confirm India is not visa-exempt, the conservative verdict is visa-required.
