India to Colombia visa requirements

Indian ordinary passport holders generally need a visa to visit Colombia for tourism. However, there is a major exemption: if you hold a valid US or Schengen visa (or residence permit) with at least 180 days validity remaining on arrival, you can enter visa-free for up to 90 days. Without such a visa/permit, apply for a Colombian tourist visa (Visa V) before travel. India is not on Colombia's general visa-exemption list, so an ordinary Indian passport holder must obtain a Colombian visa (Visa Tipo V / Visitor Visa) for tourism unless they qualify for the US/Schengen exemption. Per the Embassy of India in Bogotá and Colombia's visa policy, Indians holding a valid US visa, Schengen visa, or a residence permit in the US or a Schengen state may enter without a Colombian visa for up to 90 days, provided that visa/permit is valid for at least 180 days from the date of entry (airport transit visas do not count). Those who do not hold such documents apply online through Colombia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cancillería) e-visa portal or via the Colombian Embassy in New Delhi. The standard tourist permit (Permiso de Ingreso y Permanencia, PIP) allows up to 90 days, extendable to a maximum of 180 days per calendar year through Migración Colombia. All travelers must complete the online Check-Mig form between 72 hours and 1 hour before departure. Colombia is not in the Schengen area, so no Schengen 90/180 rule or ETIAS applies to entering Colombia itself.
