India to Switzerland visa requirements

Indian passport holders need a Schengen Type C short-stay visa to visit Switzerland for tourism. ETIAS does NOT apply to Indians. Importantly, the new ETIAS travel authorisation (launching Q4 2026 for visa-exempt nationals) does NOT apply to Indian citizens, who continue to require a full Schengen visa. The EES (Entry/Exit System) biometric border registration does apply at entry. Apply at least 15 calendar days before travel; processing typically takes around 15 calendar days but can extend to 30-45 days in peak season.
