India to Belarus visa requirements

Indian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Belarus. The easiest route for tourism is the Belarus single-entry eVisa (launched 20 March 2025), applied for fully online, valid for a stay of up to 30 days. A separate 30-day visa-free entry exists only if you already hold a valid, used multiple-entry Schengen/EU visa and arrive via Minsk National Airport. Belarus requires Indian citizens to obtain a visa for tourism, but as of 20 March 2025 it offers an electronic visa (eVisa) covering 67 countries including India. The eVisa is a single-entry tourist/short-stay visa issued for a stay of up to 30 days, applied for online via the official Belarus e-services portal (vfa.gov.by / portal.gov.by) with no embassy visit and no support documents required at submission. The fee is EUR 60 plus a EUR 6 service/internet fee (EUR 66 total), processed within 7 calendar days. Entry with an eVisa is permitted through all international checkpoints, including Minsk National Airport and land/rail borders. A standard sticker visa is still available through the Belarus Embassy in New Delhi (EUR 60 standard / EUR 120 urgent, appointment-only by email), which can be multiple-entry. Separately, Belarus runs a 30-day visa-free airport program for Indians, but it applies ONLY to travelers who already hold a valid, previously-used multiple-entry Schengen Area or EU member-state visa, enter and exit through Minsk National Airport, and are not traveling to/from Russia; it also requires proof of funds (about EUR 25/day) and medical insurance with at least EUR 10,000 coverage. Because most Indian tourists do not hold a Schengen/EU visa, the eVisa is the recommended channel. Belarus is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Passport must be valid and registration with local authorities is required for stays over 5 days (hotels do this automatically). Conditions can change; confirm with the Belarus MFA before travel.
