India to The Bahamas visa requirements

Indian ordinary passport holders need a visa for the Bahamas, applied online as a Bahamas eVisa (electronic entry visa) before travel. The single exception: if you already hold a valid visa for, or permanent residency in, the US, UK, Canada, or a Schengen country, you can enter visa-free. The Bahamas requires Indian (ordinary passport) nationals to obtain a visa before arrival. There is no visa-on-arrival channel for Indians; the official route is the Bahamas eVisa (electronic entry visa) submitted online through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal (mofa.gov.bs). The Bahamas is NOT in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. The official MOFA visa list confirms Indian nationals require a visa, with one important carve-out: Indian nationals who hold a valid visa for, or permanent resident status in, the US, UK, Canada, or any Schengen country do not require a Bahamas visa, and holders of Indian diplomatic/official passports are also exempt. Standard official fees are USD 160 (single entry) and USD 250 (multiple entry, up to 1 year). A single-entry visa permits a stay of up to three months (90 days); multiple-entry visas are issued for 3, 6, or 12 months. The eVisa target processing time is 7-10 business days when documents are complete, though applicants should allow 2-6 weeks to be safe. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of departure from the Bahamas, and travelers must show onward/return tickets, proof of funds, and accommodation.
