India to Bolivia visa requirements
Indian ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Bolivia for tourism. India is a Bolivia "Group 2" nationality, and the visa-on-arrival channel for Group 2 travelers ended on 25 July 2025, so you must now apply in advance at a Bolivian embassy or consulate before you fly. Bolivia classifies nationalities into three groups. Group 1 is visa-exempt, Group 2 requires a tourist visa, and Group 3 needs prior special authorization from DIGEMIG. India sits firmly in Group 2, so a tourist visa is mandatory for ordinary Indian passport holders. Until mid-2025 Group 2 nationals could obtain a visa on arrival at La Paz (El Alto) or Santa Cruz (Viru Viru) airports, but multiple sources (including the Wikipedia visa-policy record citing the South Korean mission in Bolivia and Timatic delisting) report this visa-on-arrival facility ended on 25 July 2025. Conservatively, and consistent with the rule that Group 2 nationals "must obtain a visa prior to arrival, obtained at any Bolivian embassy or consulate," the safe and accurate guidance is to obtain the tourist visa in advance at a Bolivian consulate. The India-Bolivia visa-exemption agreement applies only to diplomatic and official/service passports, not to ordinary tourist passports. The tourist visa grants up to 30 days per entry, extendable twice (30 days each) for a maximum of 90 days within a calendar year. Consular tourist visa fees for Indian nationals are low (commonly USD 30 or sometimes free), while the former visa-on-arrival cost was substantially higher (around USD 95). A passport valid at least six months with two blank pages is required, and a yellow-fever vaccination certificate is needed if visiting jungle/lowland areas (recorded at least 10 days before travel).
